Your local AI, always in shape: updated models, monitoring, backups and someone who answers when something fails.
AI maintenance from file.cat looks after your local AI server: models updated with no downtime, monitoring with alerts, backups and support. For businesses with local AI already installed, whether by us or by others. Onboarding takes a week and every quarter we review with you what to improve, remotely or at your office in Barcelona.

The problem: local AI isn’t install-and-forget
An AI server isn’t a printer. Open models improve every few months, GPU drivers get updated, libraries change, and a botched update can leave the whole team without their private ChatGPT on a Monday morning. And if you have agents working, someone has to make sure they don’t get stuck in loops, that resource usage doesn’t spike and that they keep doing what they should.
There is also a compliance side. The GDPR requires appropriate security measures and backups that work. NIS2 calls for vulnerability management and prompt incident reporting. And the EU AI Act expects systems that talk to people to keep disclosing that they are an AI (Art. 50) and the team to stay trained (Art. 4). Maintenance is what keeps those promises alive, and what ensures the data still doesn’t leave the office.
How we do it, step by step
Onboarding within a week. We review the installation, remotely or at your office in Barcelona, document what is there and set up monitoring.
Continuous monitoring. Automatic checks on the server, GPUs, models and agents, with alerts that reach us instantly.
Planned updates. We prepare each change in parallel, test it and apply it when it won’t get in the way.
Monthly report on usage, performance, incidents and consumption.
Quarterly review with you: what works, what doesn’t and which new models or automations are worth it.
The technology, in plain words
Monitoring: vLLM and system metrics (memory, temperature, speed per user) on a status dashboard.
Alerts: if a model stops responding, the disk fills up or a GPU disappears, we get an alert instantly.
Model changes with no downtime: we download and verify the new model while the current one keeps serving; in the LiteLLM gateway the switch is a one-line change and your users notice nothing.
Backups of the configuration, Open WebUI conversations and Qdrant indexes, with test restores.
Monitored agents: step limits, logging of every action and a review of usage per agent.
If you don’t have the installation yet, we start with local AI for business and maintenance begins on handover day.
When we DON’T recommend it
If you have a single workstation running Ollama used by one technical person, you probably don’t need a monthly plan: we’ll leave you good documentation and you can call us when you need us. If your business has an IT team with the time and the will, we can train them and stay on as occasional support. And if your AI is in the cloud, your provider already handles the maintenance.
We use it every day
Our Barcelona lab runs 24/7 on two clustered NVIDIA DGX Spark units and a server with an RTX GPU, watched by automatic checks that alert us if anything fails. In August 2026 we switched the main model three times in five days without interrupting the service, and then migrated the gateway and agents to other hardware without anyone having to stop working. It’s the same routine we apply to your server.
Agents that work with your standards and your files, inside the studio and respecting every NDA.

Frequently asked questions
What does each maintenance plan include?
They all include monitoring with alerts, updates with no downtime, verified backups, business-hours support, a monthly report and a quarterly review. What changes from one plan to another is the number of servers, models and agents, the response time you need and the hours included for small changes.
Can you maintain an installation you didn’t set up?
Yes. We start with a review of the installation, document what is there and fix anything urgent. If something can’t be maintained reliably, we’ll tell you before you sign up.
What happens if the server breaks down?
We alert you, often before you notice. We diagnose remotely and, if it is a hardware problem, we handle the warranty claim with the manufacturer or distributor. In Barcelona and the surrounding area we can come to your office.
Why do the models need updating?
Because open models improve every few months and the same hardware may run a better model tomorrow. We test it with your use cases first, prepare it in parallel and only switch over once it has been verified.
